At Carima, we manufacture and install transfer solutions that transform spaces into safer, more efficient and more comfortable places for users and carers. We work in hospitals, schools, care homes, rehabilitation centres, private homes, among other locations. Always with a functional and professional approach.
Some of our most outstanding projects include:
Find out more about our projects and how we have had a positive impact on the lives of thousands of people and families.
At the San Martín de Oñati care home we installed a ceiling hoist with an H-rail that covered the entire area of the room and made it possible to carry out continuous transfers between the bed, the bathroom and other key points, without interruptions or difficult manoeuvres. A system designed to facilitate daily care and improve mobility within the care home.
The system included a robust and reliable manual structure, designed for intensive use and adapted to meet the demands of the care environment. This configuration facilitated access to the toilet and the shower safely, comfortably and without the need for additional manoeuvres.
With this solution, assistance times were improved, the physical effort required of care staff was reduced and residents’ personal autonomy was increased in day-to-day transfers, especially during hygiene routines, with greater privacy and safety.

In the accessible apartments at Barcelona Life, an initiative of the Institut Guttmann, we installed a ceiling hoist with a straight rail in each room that enabled a smooth and direct transfer from bed to bathroom.
It was designed for people with reduced mobility who are undergoing neurological rehabilitation or who need a temporary adapted stay in Barcelona. Thanks to this system, transfers related to daily hygiene were carried out with greater safety, dignity and comfort, both for users and for those who assist them.
The system was complemented by the most suitable sling for each case, chosen according to the level of support required and the person’s clinical conditions. In addition, Carima provided tailored training and technical advice to the Institut Guttmann team, thereby ensuring the correct and safe use of the ceiling hoist.

In partnership with Adom, we carried out an accessibility installation at the Hotel Zinema7 in San Sebastian. The project included the installation of a ceiling hoist in the room, designed to facilitate transfers between the bed, the wheelchair and the bathroom safely and effortlessly.
We also adapted the bathroom, incorporating a level-access shower, with an integrated drainage channel and continuous flooring, with no steps or barriers. This configuration allowed direct access in a wheelchair and improved safety, by reducing the risk of falls.
In addition, we installed an adapted home automation system developed by Qinera, which allowed users to switch on lights, control the television, make phone calls, raise and lower blinds, or open and close the room door from a single adapted remote control or from the wheelchair itself.
It was an adapted, functional and comfortable room that met the real needs of people with reduced mobility and helped to promote a truly accessible tourism model.

At the La Martinière care home in France, we installed a ceiling hoist that connected the bed, the toilet and the shower in a single route. A continuous transfer solution that made daily care easier and improved the safety and personal autonomy of older people.
The system was custom designed and installed, taking into account the specific characteristics of the space. Differences in height between ceilings were overcome, and a smooth, safe and discreet connection was achieved between the key points of the hygiene routine.
The result was a practical, functional and perfectly integrated installation in the room, which improved the efficiency of the care team and the quality of life of users.

At the Gran Bilbao Care Home, we installed a ceiling hoist system with a custom-made rail that continuously connects three key points in daily care: the bed, the toilet and the shower.
The installation included our FIX-S motor, combined with a rail with tight curves adapted to the architectural constraints of the space. The objective was clear: to create a smooth route that avoided unnecessary manoeuvres and facilitated safe, comfortable and .
The project presented several technical challenges due to the layout of the space, so we worked in coordination with the architecture team to design a perfectly integrated solution.
In a second phase, we worked with the care team at the care centre to select the most suitable slings, according to the residents’ profiles and their care routines.
