Carima ceiling hoists and slings facilitate transfers for people with reduced mobility, improving safety, comfort and dignity in every transfer. We install bespoke solutions in hospitals, care homes, centres and private homes.
Carima’s portable bathrooms include ceiling hoists, changing benches, accessible showers, stretchers and sufficient space to move safely. They thereby ensure genuine accessibility for people with disabilities or reduced mobility.

“At Arrupenea, we are very proud to have ceiling hoists in every room inourcentre.”These hoists, which allow the bed, toilet and shower to be connected, arehighly appreciated for improving users’ quality of life and the quality of our service. With a single transfer, three different actions can be carried out, makingmanoeuvres safer and support more natural and dignified.”

“Manual transfers exhaust me and push me to my limit. I can’t carry on like this, but I want to do it alone. I can get outof bed, but I want to use the toilet without awheelchair. However, from the second transfer of the morning onwards, itbecomes exhausting and dangerous for me. Sometimes I don’t shower to minimisethe effort. Could we think of a system that combines allthese transfers into asingle one?”
Manual transfers
“My name is Carmen and I have been a wheelchair user for a short time. I’mconcerned about the effort required to help me. It is not just getting out of bed, butalso transferring to the toilet and the shower, and then returning to bed to getdressed. These manoeuvres are exhausting and dangerous for me. In my smallhome, every movement of the wheelchair takes a great deal of effort. I think that if Iam already in the sling, it would be easier and saferto transfer directly to the toiletand the shower, and then return to bed all in one go.”

“My name is Carmen Aguirre, I am 80 years old. During my recent stay at AitaMenni Hospital in Arrasate (Gipuzkoa), I was delighted with the ceiling hoists theyuse there. They made me feel very safe and comfortable, and they greatly easedmy care assistant’s work and improved our safety and peace of mind. Once I amhome, I would like to have them installed to make my daughters’work easier, asthey are the ones who look after me now.”
